Microsoft Fabric

Rishi has been involved in Microsoft Fabric for several months prior to Public Preview in March 2023, testing functionality and providing feedback to the Microsoft Product Group. He has since been spearheading an internal community of thousands of data professionals globally across Avanade and Accenture to enable them to be able to upskill and effectively sell/deliver solutions in Microsoft Fabric. In addition to the events below, he is presenting on Microsoft Fabric to the Institute of Chartered Accountants on 1st Feb, and is presenting at SQL Bits 2024 on Power BI Governance and Fabric applied to the role of a Finance/BI Analyst (see upcoming events)

MVPs demo Microsoft Fabric (Azure Synapse Analytics YouTube)

The Azure Synapse YouTube channel is run by Microsoft employees and has over 200 videos on  a range of Fabric and Synapse topics.

In this first video in the MVP session, Rishi joins fellow MVPs Andy Cutler, Shabnam Watson and Kevin Arnold to look at an end-to-end scenario in Microsoft Fabric!

PBIMCR - LDI Quiz Analytics in Microsoft Fabric

In this session (which Rishi co-presented with one of his colleagues from Avanade-Harry Ault), they gave an overview of Microsoft Fabric and looked at some use cases for analytics scenarios. They then looked at pain points in managing the quiz/user data behind LDI (www.learndatainsights.com) - how to analyse the set of XML files that are generated when someone takes a quiz attempt into meaningful analytics! We also did an in person quiz on Fabric on the LDI site and saw the results feed through in real time through Fabric itself!

LDI Introduction to Microsoft Fabric

To mark the launch of Microsoft Fabric in May 2023, I put out a short video to introduce what it is and highlighting a syllabus to learn it (https://learndatainsights.com/microsoft-fabric-training/) along with 20 sample quiz questions on the first topic of the syllabus (Key Concepts).

Note that at this time there was no official Microsoft syllabus - this was announced at Ignite in November 2023 for the DP-600
